The Love Poems

My Other

Could I dream without seeing you here?
Think, without placing you near.
Live in ways that don’t think of your spirit
Stand in the wind, without hearing you in it.
Could I sing any song and not feel you inside?
I can open my heart, my soul, and my mind

My body laid bare for skin to collide –
No regret for the shape my lips cannot hide
I could fuck what’s on offer and not give a damn
Stand upright tall, proud bold as I am
Take off my pleasure in flesh with another
But my hearts always yours, my souls other.

Framing Words

This is how ‘Time forgotten’ turns out when tweaked a little artistically via Instagram. I quite like it! It gives me ideas…

Dang, the title of this post, which I just wrote above there now, inspires more verse. That is a good thing right?

Do we want or need more verse?

Time Forgotten

img_20151202_105626.jpgShow me the sun in the east
Show leaves falling
Show me you, and I will see
The rhythms we keep

Hide, and my senses mute
Music hollow, movement stiff
Monotone my fate.

I try deny you.
Kill my heart to memory.
I succeed, you know.

Except for that whimper in my dream
That whiny voice some call hope.

Say it is not me but you.
Say tomorrow the sun glows gold
Forests green, from black
Leaves turn red

Say time is not forgotten

Say it ain’t so.
